KiDDO’s Run In With Sex Pistol

SCOTS stars KiDDO know where they want to go - and it’s nowhere near Sex Pistol Johnny Rotten. The emerging band wowed fans in the Box tent at Live At Loch Lomond last week but then encountered the wrath of the foul mouthed punk veteran.

“We had a brilliant time up there, what an experience. It was our first taste of the festival circuit back home and it really lived up to expectations. The only downside was that I couldn’t get out of the site to go home.”

“John ‘Johnny Rotten’ Lydon was backstage and he wasn’t letting anyone get out, so I had to stand - waiting at a metal gate for over an hour.” The band have their feet firmly planted on the ground and want to keep it that way.”

“We supported Dirty Pretty Things down in London and they’re all really down to earth guys, not like Lydon.”

“After what we’ve been through trying to make it, I can’t imagine losing our feet - but you never know, in a year I might be wanting backstage areas shut off so I can sit around like a king!”

Half of the four piece hail from Edinburgh and the other half from Glasgow - they’ve only been together as KiDDO since last year. The guys have just released their EP ‘We Have The Technology’ and are using the sales to fund their gigging.

“The lads have set themselves the challenge of playing a spectacular gig in Edinburgh on January 1st, 2010 after the Hogmanay celebrations”

They’ve even listed it on their official tour dates without having a clue what they’re going to do.

Raff explained: “At the time it made sense to set ourselves that target, so it’s definitely going to happen in some form.

“I’m officially promising here and now, some sort of special big gig in Edinburgh on that day”

- although the back up plan is some dingy pub with cheap beer!”
